Which city do you think will be the best place to realize your dream: New York

Among the cities you have ever visited / stayed, which city is the most impressive? Why: Vancouver is a city full of change where you can experience rain, sunshine, and hail all within a day. Not only is Vancouver a hospitable and diverse city, it is also a city passionate about protecting the environment. I am proud to be born in such a wonderful city.

Places you wish to visit & why: The Galapagos Islands located in Ecuador. It has been a dream of mine to visit ever since I first saw my childhood hero, Steve Irwin, venturing the curious islands and interacting with the abundant wildlife.

Favorite Miss Chinese Vancouver & why: Miss Chinese Vancouver 2004 Leanne Li. Her liveliness, optimism, confidence and cheerful attitude towards life make her even more beautiful than she already is. She is a role model for all young girls, and I aspire to living with the same passionate mindset that she has.

Which bodily parts are you most satisfied with: My eyes. Eyes are the windows to the soul, and I’m proud of the big eyes that I have inherited from my mother. They help me to communicate my unspoken thoughts with my loved ones.

Do you have any expectations towards the Pageant: I want to face the competition with a clear mind and do my best to present the most beautiful side of myself.

What areas do you want to better yourself: I wish to improve my ability to express myself. I have learned that communication is imperative. I wish to better articulate my thoughts to communicate effectively with my audience.

Reasons for joining the Pageant: I am very passionate about performing. I love standing onstage and expressing myself. To bring happiness and smiles to the audience is very rewarding for me. I also want to challenge myself. Participating in Sunshine Nation in 2012 made me realize that I really love the stage. Participating in Miss Chinese Vancouver is another challenge for me. I want to take this opportunity to improve myself. I am excited to discover my own potential and experience my growth in the three months of training.

What do you think is the most beautiful: The most beautiful moment in life is when loved ones are reunited. At the point of contact, there is only pure love, affection, joy, and happiness. It is a moment that explores an array of emotions and ultimately allows one to cherish and be thankful for those around them.

Who is your female role model and why: My mother. She is hard working in her career and at the same time always loving, supporting and encouraging me. She is infinitely talented, generous, and beautiful. She has taught me how to love myself and to extend that love to people around me. To me, she is the perfect representation of a woman

Why do you think you will excel at this Pageant and be crowned Miss Chinese Vancouver: Ever since I was young, my parents taught me to strive to do my best towards my goals. They also taught me to love myself and be confident in myself. I will excel in the competition because I have the confidence and ability to present the best of myself to everyone.

If you won this contest, how, as Miss Chinese Vancouver, would you contribute to the society and the world: Miss Chinese Vancouver represents the perfect unification of two cultures; Chinese and Canadians. She is also a model citizen, consistently helping out those in the community, all-the-while presenting her most elegant, dignified self. If I won this contest, I would devote myself to civil service and actively involve myself in volunteer work around my community and aim to inspire others in my community to help those in need.
